Hiring Approach
You don’t need direct experience in the oil and natural gas industry to become part of the Canyon team.
What does it take to be part of a championship team? Familiarity with machinery and knowing how to drive a truck are both
assets. Maybe you learned while working in other sectors, like forestry or the military, or while growing up on a farm.

From your first moment of contact with Canyon, you’ll notice that we’re unique. Although we’re nearly
700-strong (as of early 2012) and growing, we work hard to maintain the character of a locally based company, so that our
people feel like part of a large family rather than a number on an endless list.
After you apply, you’ll hear from a base manager or field coordinator. In other words, the actual person you’ll
be working for if you’re hired. That will start to give you insight into whether Canyon is the right place for you
– and vice-versa. The same goes for your first interview. The process includes a pre-hiring physical assessment to
ensure you can handle the job, as well as drug and alcohol screening.
After that, if we decide we’re right for each other, you’ll benefit from a complete new-employee
orientation and training program.
