CO₂ equipment is relatively straightforward. The main use for CO₂ in well stimulation is to assist in fracturing, either by creating a primary foam fracturing fluid or, more commonly, to add energy to the fracturing fluid to assist in break and flowback.

CO₂ is transported as a pressurized liquid to the well site, then pumped as a liquid using regular pumping equipment, where it gasifies down in the well bore. All Canyon pressure pumpers are CO₂-capable.

Canyon has four CO₂ bulk transport trucks and three storage queens. In addition we use reliable and tested third-party service providers for a portion of our CO₂ transport. Our main CO₂ storage or “king” units are located in Red Deer and Grande Prairie.
