    Mr. Fedora joined Canyon in September 2007 as President, was appointed to Canyon’s board of directors in spring 2008, and was promoted to president and CEO in fall 2009. Before joining Canyon Mr. Fedora spent the previous decade with Peters and Co. Ltd., a Calgary-based investment bank focused on the energy sector, where he specialized in financings and merger and acquisition transactions for the oil and natural gas service and supply sector.
    Before joining Peters Mr. Fedora attended university, where he also accumulated field experience while working summers for an energy company in Saskatchewan. Mr. Fedora holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Saskatchewan and an MBA in finance from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the board of directors of Horizon North Logistics and a former director of Marsa Energy Inc. Mr. Fedora is a 2009 recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.

    Mr. O’Brien joined Canyon in January 2007 as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Canyon Mr. O’Brien was a financial consultant (2005-2006) primarily in the natural gas liquids midstream business. Prior thereto he was employed by Taylor Gas Liquids Ltd.,as the Corporate Secretary and Chief Financial Officer from 2000 to 2005, and as controller from 1998 to 2000. From 1986 to 1998 Mr. O’Brien worked for a private company with operations in the midstream natural gas liquids industry. Prior to that he spent five years working for a publicly traded oil and natural gas exploration and production company in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to that (1978-1981) he was employed by a predecessor to KPMG, also in Calgary. Mr. O’Brien’s education to become a Chartered Accountant (“CA”) took place in Ireland, following which he was certified as a CA in Canada. He holds an executive MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

    Mr. Thue has been Canyon’s Chief Operating Officer since 2007. He joined Canyon in 2006 as senior coordinator and technical sales representative. In 2007 he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Development and later the same year was promoted to his current role. In joining Canyon, Mr. Thue brought with him nearly 25 years’ experience in well stimulation services – including cementing, acidizing, coiled tubing and fracturing – and drilling operations, having held a variety of technical, engineering, field operating and management roles. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Thue spent nearly 15 years with BJ Services Canada and Nowsco-Fracmaster Canada, working in Western Canada and gaining international experience. He gained unique insight into the customer side when he was posted in-house with leading producers to provide ongoing stimulation services over multiple wells. Prior to this, Mr. Thue spent eight years in the drilling sector, beginning his industry career as a roughneck and also gaining offshore experience. Mr. Thue is a Certified Engineering Technologist with the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologies and holds a diploma in petroleum engineering from SAIT Polytechnic.

    Mr. Vozniak oversees Canyon’s Engineering Group, Information Technology Department and the Technology Centre. He joined Canyon in April 2012 with the primary mandate to support and augment Canyon’s technical growth, assist in planning and executing services for their customers. Mr. Vozniak brings more than 30 years of experience in Western Canada’s hydraulic fracturing sector, including exposure to a variety of unconventional resource plays. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Vozniak was with Trican Well Service Ltd. for 12 years, where he held positions including Sales Manager and Technical Services Manager. Before that he was with Canadian Fracmaster Ltd. from 1980 to 1999, where he worked in Engineering, Field Sales and held the positions of Lab Manager and Technical Group Leader. Mr. Vozniak obtained his first exposure to the hydraulic fracturing sector at the start of his career in 1979. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Chemical Technology from SAIT and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

    Mr. Walker joined Canyon in 2004 as the company’s first employee, when the company was known as Jade Oilfield Services. In March 2014, Mr. Walker was promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations. He now has 20 years’ experience in the industry, after previously spending 10 years with Sanjel Cementers, where he started in the cementing division before moving on to Coiled Tubing and Nitrogen Division Manager. As Canyon’s first employee, Mr. Walker was instrumental in building the company’s operations team. He has held several operations positions and was heavily involved in the building of our first nitrogen fracturing spread.

    Mr. Bates joined Fraction Energy Services Ltd. in July 2016 bringing 13 years’ oilfield experience to his role as General Manager, Operations. He started his oil patch career on drilling rigs before going back to pursue post-secondary education. He has since held positions as a Completions Engineer at Quicksilver Resources and Water Management Coordinator at Progress Energy. Mr. Bates has graduated from both SAIT with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology as well as from the University of Regina where he obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Petroleum Systems Engineering.

    Mr. Skilnick joined Canyon in January 2015 as Vice President and Controller. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Skilnick worked at CanElson Drilling Inc., a North American focused drilling services contractor, from 2009 until the time of its sale in 2015, including serving as the company’s Chief Financial Officer from 2010 until its sale. Prior thereto he was Corporate Controller for an international exploration and production company and worked at KPMG for 8 years, most recently a senior manager in the audit practice. Mr. Skilnick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2002, and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

    Mr. den Engelsen is currently the Vice President, Organizational Development for Canyon. Prior to joining the company, Mr. den Engelsen amassed 20+ years’ experience in Human Resources, and organizational design providing leadership in private enterprise, non-profit, and multinational, publicly traded companies. His expertise in HR covers employee and labour relations, compensation, organizational design, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, compensation, reorganization and growth.
    Mr. den Engelsen has a MBA, in Executive Management from Royal Roads University where his thesis project focused on Lean enterprise. In 2014 he was awarded his Fellowship as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources from the provincial governing body in 2014.

    Mr. Matthies joined Canyon as General Counsel in February 2013. Before joining Canyon Mr. Matthies spent four years as the General Counsel of a private company in Calgary and three years as a Vice President at an investment banking firm in Calgary, which focused on small to mid-capitalization Canadian and international oil and natural gas exploration and services companies. Prior thereto Mr. Matthies was an associate at the law firm of Burnet, Duckworth and Palmer LLP in Calgary for seven years, during which time he was briefly seconded to the TSX Venture Exchange as a corporate finance analyst. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law and was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies varsity hockey team. Mr. Matthies is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.

    David Westlund joined Canyon as Director of Sales in February 2014, bringing with him over 27 years’ experience in Pressure Pumping within Canada.  The addition of David to the Canyon Technical Services team is consistent with the management’s objectives and philosophy of expansion while delivering quality, customized pressure pumping services to the oil and gas industry.

    Garnet Olson, P. Eng. has 15 years of engineering experience with major pumping service companies in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Mr. Olson graduated from The University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Cooperative Program) in 1994, and received his Professional Engineer designation from APEGGA in 1997.

    Gord Haycraft joined Canyon Technical Services in 2011, bringing with him a career of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. His drive to succeed stems from an internal passion for continued knowledge, having attended a variety of institutions such as NAIT, U of A, and U of O. Gord also obtained his professional designation in the discipline of Health, Safety and Environment through the World Safety Organization.
